Our Team

Karen Pay  
 
Karen qualified in 1995 and is head of our family team.  She has specialised in family law since qualifying and is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel.
 
Karen gained a legal aid franchise for the firm and has a contract for family work.  Karen is a member of Resolution, the organisation committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.  Its members follow a code of practice that promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems.  Members encourage solutions that consider the needs of the whole family – and in particular the best interest of children.
 
Susan Brakell
 
Susan qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and is head of our Private Client ream.  She has a wealth of experience, particularly in acting for elderly clients, and specialises in Wills, Estate Administration, Inheritance tax Planning and Advice, Lasting Powers of Attorney, matters concerning the Court of Protection and Elderly Client affairs.  Susan is happy to visit clients in the familiar surroundings of their own home, or in hospital.  Susan has given numerous talks to local groups on a variety of topics.
 
Tracey Surman
 
Our Residential Property Department is headed up by our Residential Conveyancer Tracey Surman.  Tracey has been employed as a Residential Conveyancer for the past 15 years.  During Tracey’s career in addition to leading our Property Department at P B Law, she has managed several Conveyancing Teams in both medium and large city law firms during which time she assisted in-house training of Trainee Solicitors and the external training of estate agents. 
 
Tracey has a wide experience of all areas of Property Law including residential sales and purchase, remortgages, transfers of equity, drafting new Leases, enfranchisement and commonhold, new build plot sales and the sale and transfer of land.
 
Jackie Fuller
 
Jackie obtained a 2:1 honours degree in Accountancy in Law in 2004 and went on to study for the Institute of Legal Executives qualification, completing her academic qualifications in June 2009.  She is now a Graduate Member of the Institute of Legal Executives, specialising in family when she obtained employment as Legal Assistant to the Senior Partner at Tennant & Knight solicitors.  Jackie joined P B Law in January 2008 and she undertakes work in all areas of Family law including divorce, ancillary relief, care proceedings and private law children work.
